Here at Country Traders we have been marketing Jamaican coffee for the past sixteen years, and in 1994 we established our own roastery, Coffee Roasters of Jamaica Limited, one of the ten Jamaican roasters recognised and licensed by the Jamaican Coffee Industry Board. As a family run business we are aware that our success depends entirely upon maintaining our customers’ confidence in our reliability and efficiency, so we pay close attention to your coffee every step of the way, through purchasing, cupping, roasting, packaging and delivery. It also enables us to work on a very short cycle, responding each day to incoming orders; and it is our aim to put our coffee in your hands within two weeks of its roasting date. We roast only 30 kilograms (66 lbs.) of coffee beans at a time and Vacuum-pack in high-quality foil bags with one-way valves. The coffee is given maximum protection. Remember that the time between roasting and brewing will affect flavour - the shorter the better! Jamaica produces about 4,000,000 lbs of coffee beans each year, two thirds of which is Blue Mountain® coffee. Almost 90% of Jamaica’s coffee exports go to Japan so the quantity otherwise available is quite small. Unfortunately it has a way of multiplying after it leaves Jamaica, indicating that it is sometimes mixed with other lesser coffees.
